Snapcom Click-to-Call Privacy Policy
Snapcom Click-to-Call connects your browser to your Snapcom phone service. This policy explains what the extension processes, where that data goes, and the choices you have. The short version: the extension communicates only with Snapcom services, page scanning happens entirely on your device, and your data is never sold or used for advertising.
The extension is intended for use by employees of organizations that subscribe to Snapcom's phone service. By installing it and signing in, you agree to this policy. This policy supersedes the version previously published at crm.snapcom.com (last updated June 26, 2026).
What the extension processes
- Sign-in credentials. When you sign in, your Snapcom portal username, password, and verification code (if your account uses one) are sent over an encrypted connection to the Snapcom CallIQ service, which signs you in to your phone service. Your password is not stored by the extension. The extension keeps only a sign-in token, stored locally in your browser and refreshed automatically.
- Web page content. The extension scans the pages you visit to find phone numbers so it can add call buttons. This scanning runs entirely in your browser. Page content is never transmitted anywhere.
- Numbers you call. When you click a number or use quick dial while signed in, that phone number is sent to the Snapcom phone service to place the call. If you use the extension's "use without signing in" mode, the number is handed to your computer's default calling app instead and nothing is sent to Snapcom.
- Call activity. While you are signed in, the extension periodically checks your Snapcom phone service for your active calls so it can show the incoming-call window, and fetches your recent calls and contact matches from Snapcom CallIQ. Caller history, call summaries, and CRM details shown in that window come from your organization's Snapcom CallIQ account and follow its sharing settings: summaries appear only for teammates who opted in, and CRM context appears only when your administrator has enabled it.
- Preferences. Your chosen device, detection on/off setting, per-site settings, and mode choices are stored locally in your browser.
Information handled by Snapcom services
The extension pairs with the Snapcom phone platform and Snapcom CallIQ, which handle data server-side for your organization:
- Call records. Date and time, duration, calling and called numbers, direction, and disposition of your organization's calls.
- Call summaries and analysis. When your organization enables it, Snapcom CallIQ generates AI summaries, key details, and quality metrics from call recordings, stored alongside the call record.
- CRM contact data. When a contact lookup runs, CallIQ queries your organization's connected CRM using credentials your administrator authorized, and may cache the matched contact's name, identifier, and link for performance.
- Operational logs. Standard server logs (request paths, status codes, timestamps, IP addresses) used for security, debugging, and abuse prevention, retained for a limited operational window.
Data sharing
Your data is never sold, and never used for advertising or purposes unrelated to the extension's calling features. The extension itself communicates only with Snapcom services (addresses ending in snapcom.com) and contains no advertising, analytics, or tracking code. On the service side, data is shared only as follows:
- With your organization. Call activity, summaries, and related records are visible to authorized administrators of your organization.
- With your organization's connected CRM. Where your organization has authorized a CRM connection, call activity is written to that CRM on your organization's behalf.
- With the Snapcom phone platform. Sign-in and call requests pass through the Snapcom phone platform that provides your service.
- With infrastructure providers. Snapcom services run on standard cloud infrastructure (database, queue, and object storage for call recordings) under appropriate confidentiality terms.
- When legally required. Information may be disclosed if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Snapcom or others.
Storage and deletion
- Data the extension stores (the sign-in token and your preferences) lives in your browser's extension storage on your device. Uninstalling the extension removes it.
- Signing out removes the stored sign-in token.
- Calls you place and receive are handled by your organization's Snapcom phone service and, where enabled, Snapcom CallIQ, under your organization's service agreement with Snapcom. Retention of call records and recordings is governed by that agreement and your organization's settings.
Your choices
- Turn phone-number detection off globally or for specific sites from the extension popup.
- Use the extension without signing in: numbers stay clickable and open your computer's own calling app, and no information is sent to Snapcom.
- Uninstall at any time from your browser's extensions page.
Security
The extension communicates with Snapcom services exclusively over encrypted (HTTPS) connections. Sign-in tokens are stored in the browser's extension storage, which is isolated from web pages and other extensions, and no API credentials are bundled with the extension. Access to Snapcom services requires authentication and is scoped by role and by organization. No system is perfectly secure; if you suspect a security issue, contact us immediately.
Children's privacy
The extension and the services behind it are intended for use by employees of business customers. They are not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes and contact
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new effective date.
